Amanda is a gym owner, the wife of Quentin, and a mother to twin boys. Fitness has been a consistent part of Amanda’s life, and in 2015 she began searching for something fresh. CrossFit was the answer. She quickly fell in love with her progress and the vibrant community. Now she had a new dream; to open her own CrossFit gym one day. In 2021 that dream became a reality with the opening of CrossFit Cortland. Currently a Level 1 CrossFit trainer, Amanda has also been certified in Adaptive and Inclusive Training, Kids CrossFit, and Barbell Rehab. Amanda is bound to her Level 2 this summer. Amanda strives to make CrossFit Cortland a supportive community where all members will find functional fitness and a healthier version of themselves.

Quentin- Quentin owns Crossfit Cortland with his wife Amanda and is the proud father of their twin boys. An avid fitness enthusiast, Quentin appreciates a good, fast run and a bench press workout any day of the week. During the 2021 Joshua Fundraising Event, Quentin realized what a true community CrossFit is as he experienced athletes coming together to support and encourage each other. After that moment, he was hooked. Helping his wife fulfill her dream, Quentin opened CrossFit Cortland with Amanda. In April of 2021, he ventured to take his Level 1 CrossFit Training to guide others in finding their love of CrossFit, just as he had. Since then, Quentin has trained in Barbell Rehab and is bound to his Level 2 this summer.

Mark began delving into CrossFit over 10 years ago after watching the CrossFit Games on TV. Mark is retired law enforcement, a husband, and father. After several years of training, Mark followed his passion for CrossFit and decided in 2018 to take his Level 1 training. Since then he has added training in Coaching the Aging Athlete, Spot
Mark began delving into CrossFit over 10 years ago after watching the CrossFit Games on TV. Mark is retired law enforcement, a husband, and father. After several years of training, Mark followed his passion for CrossFit and decided in 2018 to take his Level 1 training. Since then he has added training in Coaching the Aging Athlete, Spot the Flaw, Barbell Rehab, and many more CrossFit courses. However Mark is not stopping there, as he will head to his Level 2 training this summer. When Mark was asked in 2021 if he would be interested in coaching at CrossFit Cortland, he jumped at the chance and hasn’t stopped yet. His drive and determination to bring Functional Fitness to the Cortland Community has leveled him to Head Coach.

Back home in Long Island, Kelli initiated her CrossFit Journey a few years ago. College brought her to Cortland and stopped in to try CrossFit Cortland. Kelli became a staple in the 6:30 a.m. class. Her dedication to learning new movements and improving on her weaknesses was noticed by the coaches. In 2022 Kelli quietly took her Level 1 training and after passing told the CrossFit Cortland Staff. The gym quickly went to work getting her into the internship program. She passed successfully and now coaches whenever she returns to college. Kelli has helped in the Kids and Teens programming and is always ready to cheer on every single athlete, no matter the ability. Kelli is a volunteer firefighter back home and is striving for a career in law enforcement.

After moving to the area back in 2015, Kay was searching for a way to get her fitness back on track. Her story is similar to many others. Following her brother’s advice to find the closest CrossFit gym, Kay found a fantastic outlet for fitness and a community of like-minded people working on a healthier version of themselves. Since then, her love for CrossFit has grown as she makes everlasting friendships. Kay had always hoped to coach, and when CrossFit Cortland opened she got her shot. Kay completed her Level 1 training along with the internship process and hasn’t stopped yet. Kay now pays forward the love she found when she first started to all the athletes at CrossFit Cortland. Kay has also trained and certified as a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist and specializes in breastfeeding support. She is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 and an RYT-200 Yoga instructor.

In 2013, Amanda finally gave into the playful peer pressure from her friends to give CrossFit a try. She soon found their love of the sport was contagious. Amanda initially got her CrossFit Level 1 just so she could work with an adaptive athlete. Almost 6 years later, she is still working with the same client at CrossFit Cortland. With some nudging back at SevenValley CrossFit, Amanda left her comfort zone and began coaching full classes. Since initially starting, Amanda has received training and certification in Adaptive and Inclusive training and Olympic lifting. If you can’t find Amanda on the gym floor, look up! She’s probably monkeying around on the rig with her amazing strength in gymnastics work.

When the gym owners were looking for potential coaches for CrossFit Cortland, they reached out to Kyle, who accepted the job. Kyle is soft-spoken, patient, and has a great eye for seeing the flaw in a lift and helping fix it.
